Amy's Latest News:

August 21, 2010:  The super talented and oh-so-organized Keli Gwyn has invited me back to her Romance Writers on the Journey blog to talk about my first sale experience. Okay, I even blather about the book a bit.  Best yet, Keli and I are offering a giveaway of a custom Circa Plotting Notebook (you find them at Levenger.com).  Believe me, this kind of notebook came in handy while plotting Lying Eyes

August 7, 2010:  Back from the RWA National Conference in Orlando.  It was a great--if exhausting--experience.  No resting though.  I'm in the midst of edits for Lying Eyes, but today I'm taking a break for a guest appearance at the Southern Sizzle Romance blog.  Join me to discuss those books we write even when we believe there might not be a market for them.

June 29, 2010:  I've been holding out on sharing the big news, but today I got confirmation that Carina Press plans to publish Lying Eyes in November, 2010.  Yes, everyone--I've sold a book!

April 17, 2010:  Thank you to the wonderful judges for Valley Forge Romance Writers' 2010 Sheila Contest.  Lying Eyes was selected as a finalist in the Romantic Suspense category.  Crossing my fingers that the final judge loves it as much.

April 12, 2010:  The Pink Fuzzy Slipper Writers  invited me to their blog today to kick off a week of posts by writers who've attended Civilian Law Enforcement academies or classes.  I share a couple of my experiences during my 10-week course with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

March 17, 2010: Tomorrow, I head out to Pensacola for the Silken Sands Conference where I'll be presenting my workshop, Ready...Aim...Fire! Targeting Contests As Part of Your Career Plan.  I'm looking forward to catching up with long-time friends and meeting new people.

March 16, 2010:  I received wonderful news from the San Antonio Romance Authors last night.  Lying Eyes has been selected as a finalist in the 2010 Merritt Contest.  Thank you to the judges!

February 17, 2010:   Last week I received lovely news from Romance Writers of America that I've been invited to present my live workshop,   Your Pitch Begins With YOU: Strengthening Your Pitch By Stengthening Your Prestentation Skills , at the RWA National Conference in Nashville this summer.  I'm very excited!  Find out more about the workshop and my other classes here .

January 25, 2010:   Results are in from Silicon Valley RWA's Gotcha! contest, and Lying Eyes placed second in the romantic suspense category.  It's my first contest final in awhile, so I'm definitely celebrating.

January 18, 2010:   Today I'm back at Romance University to give an update on my latest manuscript and discuss the lessons we learn when we veer off-course with our writing. Ever think of writing something different?  Go for it!

January 9, 2010:  I conducted  Conceive--Believe--Achieve , my goal-setting workshop at First Coast Romance Writers in Jacksonville, Florida, today.  What a terrific group there.  Thanks, ladies, for making me so welcome!

January 1, 2010:   A new year.  A new decade.  To celebrate, I've expanded the WritingGIAM community to include a new GoPRO loop designed to provide networking and support to writers determined to complete and submit their first polished manuscript during 2010.  For more information on joining, click here .

November 1, 2009:   I'm back to work on my mainstream historical and looking forward to having the proposal polished and the rough draft complete by year end.  For 2010, I'm excited to announce I'll be offering a new online class, Prose & Contests: Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Writing Contests But Were Afraid To Ask.  The class will be offered through various RWA® chapters beginning next spring.  For more information, visit my new Class and Workshop page.
