2008 Pixie Chicks
In 2008, I was fortunate to be numbered among Romance Writers of America's® finalists in their Golden Heart® contest. This is the most prestigious national contest for unpublished romance manuscripts. It's capped at 1200 entries, and five readers judged my entry in the initial round. Yes, there's tough competition. In fact, this was the fourth time in five years I'd entered my manuscript, Public Relations, but this year, it made the final round.
And no, I didn't win the award, but I was thrilled to be a finalist. For more information about the contest, visit RWA on the web.
One of the benefits of being a finalist is meeting all the other finalists. We dubbed ourselves the Pixie Chicks, and we've become friends, resources, and mutual supporters. It's my pleasure to introduce them here.
